The exact origin of the poker is still not clear, to some it seems like to be originated in 16th century in Persia and the cards known as’ As Nas’. This game was played with 25 cards and with 5 different suits. The game was somewhat similar to the modern version which is being played with 5 card stud. The European started to play the game and firstly they called it as ‘pochen’ or ‘poque’.
Poker might have originated in Europe but the actual fame and the name Poker it got in United States.poker was firstly played in America in New Orleans in 1800 century, before the American Civil war. The West comprised of real spectaculars and the travelers who had the courage to take risk, the game of poker was liked by those people.
A standard deck of 52 cards is used to play Poker. The cards in the game are ranked from high to low that means the Ace is ranked one and 2 is ranked the last. Ace rank more than the king, king rank more than queen and the queen rank more than the jack. It goes on. The cards are separated in to four suits such as the hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades
As you all know that all the suits rank the same no value for the any particular suit is assigned. Each player has a set of five cards and the game has to end with the highest valued hand of cards. The ranking is being done from the best to the worst.

- Four of a kind
- Full House
- Straight
- Three of a kind
- Two pair
- One pair
- High card
